Merdeka 2008

Recently, we celebrated Merdeka.

People on the streets shouted 'MERDEKA!' Or did they?

This paragraph is taken from Wikipedia:

Hari Merdeka (Independence Day) is a national day of Malaysia commemorating the independence of the Federation of Malaya from British colonial rule. In a wider context, it is to celebrate the formation of Malaysia.

Hmmm, 'from British colonial rule'. I guess we've passed that stage. Now, we have entered another stage, something far worse... we need independence from our own Government.

Well, you already know what I'm getting at. It has become so common that it is starting to become like the joke, 'Why did the chicken cross the road?' Nobody's laughing.

Recently, many Malaysians have been asking for a change in Government. One that practises racial equality, justice and honesty.

There is hope. Pakatan Rakyat is getting stronger and stronger by the day.

Be happy. Malaysia is about to be 'independent' again soon, and then we can truly shout... MERDEKA!
